So we got a call this week from a local wedding planner in Daphne who was working on a rustic / farmhouse wedding at The Grand Hotel in Fairhope and was looking for a rustic pergola to help transform the space and complement the farmhouse tables. The wedding was supposed to be outdoors but there was rain coming in and they made a rain call to move the reception inside the ballroom and needed some help.
We were asked to build this pergola 10' x 10' and 10 feet tall! By far the biggest pergola we had done so far, and if you look at the above picture you can see the guy standing next to it for reference.
We did a layering painting effect to create a weathered barnboard look on this new wood (we'll post closer detail pics later). The planner is going to hang 5 chandeliers throughout the pergola and then the cake table will be in the center.
Can't wait to see the photos with the cake stand set and lights dimmed!
After posting a picture, we got a call from Gulf Shores to use this as a beach wedding arbor, YEAH!
Does anybody know the difference between a pergola and arbor? If yes, please post in comments - thanks:)
