History of Chiavari Chairs
The history of chiavari chairs dates all the way back to 1807, when Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi was invited to rework some chairs in the French Empire style, and in doing so reworked the chairs and made them lighter. The new chiavari chair was an instant success. The name comes from the town that they were invented, Chiavari, Italy.
In the comments section at the end please let us know your favorite color chiavari chair. Thanks!
Here are a few pictures of chiavari chair rentals that are very popular in Mobile, Fairhope and Pensacola these days.
In the United States, chiavari chairs really came onto the scene when President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jackie Kennedy wedding pictures were in Life Magazine and they were pictured sitting on chiavari chairs. Instantly everybody wanted to know how they could rent chiavari chairs, and an industry was reborn.
Even the Kennedy's had chiavari chairs at their wedding.
We also have kids chiavari chairs for rent, and these are oh so cute. Take a look at a few photos below for some wedding inspiration.

Teardown day can be sad: (
We are so blessed each day that we get to work with all the great wedding planners, photographers, bakeries, venues, etc. Everyday we come to work and get to help bring a vision or inspiration together and it is very satisfying when you see that smile of approval or the text or email after the event.
The one part of doing wedding rentals in Daphne (or in Gulf Shores like the above photo) that is bittersweet is teardown day. You work to get everything pulled together and looking great and them you come pull everything down and return it to it's original form.
Natural Pergola or Arbor?
So we got a call this week from a local wedding planner in Daphne who was working on a rustic / farmhouse wedding at The Grand Hotel in Fairhope and was looking for a rustic pergola to help transform the space and complement the farmhouse tables. The wedding was supposed to be outdoors but there was rain coming in and they made a rain call to move the reception inside the ballroom and needed some help.
We were asked to build this pergola 10' x 10' and 10 feet tall! By far the biggest pergola we had done so far, and if you look at the above picture you can see the guy standing next to it for reference.
We did a layering painting effect to create a weathered barnboard look on this new wood (we'll post closer detail pics later). The planner is going to hang 5 chandeliers throughout the pergola and then the cake table will be in the center.
Can't wait to see the photos with the cake stand set and lights dimmed!
After posting a picture, we got a call from Gulf Shores to use this as a beach wedding arbor, YEAH!
Does anybody know the difference between a pergola and arbor? If yes, please post in comments - thanks:)
25 Wedding Tips from Newlyweds
We are always looking for good tips for our clients and we recently found an article of wedding tips from newlyweds which we think can provide good insight.
#1 on the list - Take your time
"Matt and I planned our wedding for sixteen months, and it really helped to keep stress levels down. We got tons of stuff done early and had time to save for the things we really wanted. You only get to plan your wedding once, so make sure it is a fun time, not a stressful one!" —Claire and Matt
This is great advice, and we encourage clients to do the same. This is a very special time for the couple and you want to make sure it is fun and enjoyable.
Follow this link to Bridal Guide for more of the great tips from newlyweds, or you can call or send us a message on our contact page and we can give you advice for local wedding planners, local photographers, local florists, weather, etc. We primarily work in Daphne, Fairhope, Gulf Shores, and Orange Beach, but our work also takes us to Mobile, and Pensacola often.
